Seth Joyner

Director, Operations & Development | Pronouns: he/him

Seth is a seasoned nonprofit leader and cross-cultural program manager with over 15 years of experience designing and implementing global exchange initiatives. At the National Association for Black Engagement with Asia (NABEA), he leads operational strategy and institutional development, overseeing internal systems and spearheading fundraising efforts to ensure NABEA’s long-term sustainability. His work supports the infrastructure that allows NABEA’s mission to thrive, from standard operating procedures to successful grant writing.

Seth currently serves as Senior Program Manager for the National Committee on North Korea (NCNK), an independent project of Mercy Corps, where he manages grants and targeted engagement initiatives. He has held key roles on the International Visitor Leadership Program team at American Councils for International Education, and led the domestic operations and recruitment efforts for the USA Pavilion Youth Ambassador Program at Expo 2020 Dubai, a U.S. State Department program implemented in cooperation with Global Ties U.S. Seth’s fieldwork includes developing intercultural training programs in Incheon, South Korea, where he was in residence at the University of Utah Asia Campus.

He holds an MA in International Education Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University. A Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Seth also holds a TOPIK Level 3 proficiency in Korean.

Outside of NABEA, Seth is likely listening to audiobooks while experimenting with flavors in the kitchen, or let's be honest, planning another trip somewhere new.
