Stephanie bulega-nasuna

Stephanie Bulega-Nasuna currently serves as an intern for the National Association for Black Engagement with Asia (NABEA), prior to this she has been a member for one year. In this role, she collaborates with the leadership team and members to develop programming, maintain NABEA's digital presence, and amplify member voices through the newsletter and website.

Stephanie holds an M.A. in U.S. Foreign Policy and National Security, with a concentration in Asia, from American University, as well as a B.A. in International Relations and a paralegal certificate from Suffolk University.

Her professional experience sits at the intersection of Indo-Pacific affairs, economics, and national security. As a research associate on Aardwolf Global Solutions' Supply Chain Resilience team, she supports supply chain due diligence for government, the defense industrial base, and national security–relevant partners, with a focus on identifying and mitigating exposure to China within critical supply chains. During her masters' program, she served as a graduate teaching and research assistant to former Ambassador Piper Campbell, supporting Campbell's graduate courses and her research on Southeast Asia. As a policy intern for the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), she contributed to a white paper on how North Korean IT workers infiltrate U.S. companies to generate illicit revenue for the DPRK. Through her internship with the Former Members of Congress's Congressional Study Group on Korea, she drafted a briefing book on U.S.–Korea relations for a congressional study tour to Seoul.

Stephanie is committed to deepening her Korean and Japanese language and cultural fluency. She is a recipient of the 2023 Korean Critical Language Scholarship and the 2023 David L. Boren Japanese Scholarship, and an alumna of the National Committee on North Korea's 2025 Knowing North Korea Next-Gen Workshop.
